They are very important to a company!

What is a Board of Directors?
A Board of Directors is a group of people who supervise an organisation.
The Board takes care that the company does the right things.
Private limited companies must have at least 2 members on their board.
Public limited companies should have at least 3 members on their board.
Directors are elected by shareholders in a company.
There are Many Types of Directors
Did you know that an employee can also be a Director?
For example, many CEOs of a company are also members of the Board of Directors.
They are called Executive Directors.
Some people are Independent Directors.
Independent Directors have no other relationship with the company.
Being a Director is a very important responsibility.
Directors are appointed based on their qualifications and experience.
Directors may choose to join a Board of a company only if they are sure about the company.
A company with a good reputation will find good Directors!
In India, a person must have a Director Identification Number (DIN) to become a Director of any company.
What Does the Board of Directors Do?
The Board of Directors is responsible for the performance of the company!
They guide the vision and strategy of the company.
The Board of Directors chooses the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of a company.
They review the performance of the company.
The Board may even take some important decisions for the company.
For example, they may decide the salaries of senior management!
