People from many parts of the world came to Sri Lanka.

There are Sri Lankans who are from India, Malaysia, Portugal, the Netherlands, and China. 

There is evidence of humans in Sri Lanka from over 1,25,000 years ago! 

The people of Sri Lanka love good food.

Sri Lanka is famous for many dishes.

Some famous Sri Lankan dishes are Kottu and Lamprais.

Sri Lanka is also a cricket playing nation.

Sri Lanka won the cricket world cup in 1996!

Important Trade and Business of Sri Lanka

The main industries in Sri Lanka are tourism, tea, and agricultural products. 

Sri Lanka is very popular for tourism! 

They have wildlife and forests. 

The country has many beautiful beaches.

There are many ancient monuments to visit. 

People also visit Sri Lanka for religious reasons.

Sri Lanka is one of the largest producers of tea in the world!

They also grow rice, vegetables, and mustard. 

Education in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka has over 10,000 schools.

School education is free for all Sri Lankans!

English is one of the national languages of Sri Lanka. 

All schools in Sri Lanka teach English.

English literacy is a challenge in Sri Lanka.

Many students only hear English in class.

This makes English difficult to learn.

Technology is Helping Students Learn English in Sri Lanka

Sri Lanka is now using technology in schools to help students learn English.

The technology is the same as EnglishBolo™.

The program was recently tested in 50 schools.

The test was a success! 

Students and teachers loved the software. 

The teachers found it very easy to teach in class.

The students’ test scores showed an improvement in their English.

The technology program for English is now being implemented in 10,000 schools in the country!
