There were towns and cities in Gujarat more than 5000 years ago!

Parts of these ancient cities still exist in Gujarat! 

The Rann of Kutch is a beautiful salt desert.

The famous lions of Asia live in the Gir forests of Gujarat.

The Garba dance of Gujarat is popular even outside the state.

The father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi was a Gujarati.

Business and Industry in Gujarat

Gujarat has many industrial cities. 

Ahmedabad was ranked as one of the fastest-growing cities in the world. 

Many minerals are found in this state. 

Mining is a big industry. 

The state also produces about 80% of salt used in India. 

Gujarat has produced many successful business people!

Gujarat and English Education

English is important for career success in any industry. 

Most colleges and universities also require English.

English education is a challenge for many states in India. 

Gujarat aims to provide English education for everyone.

Gujarat learns English Using Technology!

In 2014, a technology program for English was started in 80 government schools in Gujarat.

The technology provides many tools that help students learn. 

For example, it has a tool to help with pronunciation.

Students can even find word meanings in Gujarati. 

Teachers are trained to use this technology.

The program has been very successful.

Now more than 1600 schools are using the program.
