NIIT Foundation
NIIT is one of the biggest Indian multinational information technology companies. They offer management and training delivery solutions to corporations, institutions and individuals. Being a successful multi-national company, NIIT also serves to help local communities. In 2005, The NIIT Foundation was established. The intent of the NIIT Foundation is to better understand the education and employability issues at the grassroots level and build sustainable training intervention.
In keeping with their vision, the NIIT Foundation established training centres across India. These centres train college students with the skills they need for employment. The skills provided are two-fold. Students are trained with basic information technology skills. Many of them are placed in well know IT companies! Students are also trained for other important aspects of job qualifications like communication. English has become essential for effective communication in this globalizing economy. Now, an NIIT District Learning Centre implemented EnglishBolo™ to help students improve their spoken English.
Why EnglishBolo™?
EnglishBolo™ is an AI-based app that improves a learner’s spoken English. The program has online teacher classes and self-learning lessons with interactive tools. The combination of comprehensive learning, easy accessibility, and time flexibility makes EnglishBolo™ a great program for these learners. The program is designed to show significant improvement in a learner’s ability in 100 days.
Now, EnglishBolo™ is implemented in the District Learning Centre in Chinndwara, Madhya Pradesh. The program is currently being used by all the students learning at the centre.
How It Works
The EnglishBolo™ 100-day program provides a learning model that provides structured and consistent learning and practise with the convenience of flexibility for accessing lessons and teachers for each user.
The program structure:
1. An assessment test that will place the user into a program most suited to their level.
2. 100 short ‘learn yourself’ lessons. One lesson every day is the intended way to use the program. Each lesson ends with a short quiz for some additional practice.
3. After 8 lessons, a user can sign up for an online teacher class. Teacher classes are an important supplement for spoken English practice. These classes help users develop confidence.
4. Each user gets to choose the day and time of the class. A user needs a good internet connection and a pair of headphones to successfully take the class. Each user gets 10 online classes for the duration of the program.
5. At the end of the program, each user takes a test and receives a certificate.
The program is currently underway. Learner engagement has been consistently high. We look forward to a continued relationship with the NIIT Foundation in the future.

EnglishBolo™ is a joint initiative of EnglishHelper and Schoolnet.
It is an AI-powered English learning app designed to help learners improve their spoken English. The 100-day program blends 100 self-learning lessons and 10 live online teacher classes. The program is currently being used by vocation trainees, college students, young job seekers, working professionals and others.
