Prepositions for Time
Prepositions like in, at, on etc. show us when something happens.
Let us practise some prepositions for English speaking!
In is used for months, years and historical periods!
E.g. It rains in July.
On is used for days of the week and specific days.
E.g. I don’t eat meat on Tuesdays.
At specific times, places and meals.
E.g. I eat breakfast at 9 am.

Prepositions for Place
Prepositions also tell us where something happens.
We use prepositions like at, in, and on to show location.
In – In is used:
– For rooms, buildings, towns, cities and countries (example: kitchen, Chennai, India).
– Book, paper, newspaper and magazine.
– Car, taxi and auto-rickshaw.
– Picture, world.
At – At is used:
– As ‘next to’ or ‘by’ an object.
– For ‘table’ (example: dinner table, dining table).
– For events (example: parties, birthdays).
– For places where a kind of work is done (school, office, police station, movie theatre).
On – On is used:
– For things put above something else and touching it. (Example: The glass is on the table.)
– For a place with a river. (Example: My home is on the Ganga river.)
– For a certain side (left and right).
– For a floor in a building (2nd floor, ground floor).
– For planes, bicycles, buses.
– For television, radio and the internet.
