S.P.N. Doshi Women’s College

The Smt. P.N. Doshi Women’s College was established by the SPRJ Kanyashala Trust in 1960. The SPRJ Kanyashala Trust pioneered women’s education at a time when it was not a societal priority.

Over the last 80 years, the college has only grown in its success and reputation. The college has received an “A” grade for 3 consecutive cycles by the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC). These accolades recognize the college as one of the high performing institutes in the country. 

The college strives to provide its students access to comprehensive learning. They want their students to have all the facilities for a successful education. The ultimate goal of the college is to open up the career prospects of each student. They have an established centre to help students plan for their interests and careers. In keeping with this, they also recognize the importance of English in finding career opportunities. As the world globalizes, knowing a universal language like English qualifies students for roles that require communication with a host of people.

S.P.N. Doshi Women’s College Provides EnglishBolo™

In order to give their students a better chance at a good career and holistic learning, S.P.N. Doshi Women’s College provides EnglishBolo™ to their students. The EnglishBolo™ program is an easy-to-follow learning app with lessons and online teacher-classes. The program reads the lessons to you and has 5 helpful tools to facilitate easy learning. 

The teacher classes are a convenient way to practise and correct your English. The learners get to choose the day and time of their class which can be taken anywhere with access to the internet. 

EnglishBolo™ is an economical and accessible program to facilitate out-of-class learning. It is more affordable and less time-consuming than tuition classes, which many students in India take. 

How It Works 

The EnglishBolo™ 100-day program provides a learning model that provides structured and consistent learning and practise with the convenience of flexibility for accessing lessons and teachers for each user. 

The program structure: 

1. An assessment test that will place the user into a program most suited to their level. 

2. 100 short ‘learn yourself’ lessons. One lesson every day is the intended way to use the program. Each lesson ends with a short quiz for some additional practice. 

3. After 8 lessons, a user can sign up for an online teacher class. Teacher classes are an important supplement for spoken English practice. These classes help users develop confidence.

4. Each user gets to choose the day and time of the class. A user needs a good internet connection and a pair of headphones to successfully take the class. Each user gets 10 online classes for the duration of the program. 

5. At the end of the program, each user takes a test and receives a certificate.

How It’s Doing

The program was initiated in August 2019 and is still underway. The mandate is for 1000 students, which will be carried out in batches. Currently, 300 students are using the EnglishBolo™ program. The user engagement is consistently high and student feedback has been resoundingly positive. We look forward to a continued relationship with the organisation.

EnglishBolo™ is a joint initiative of EnglishHelper and Schoolnet. 

It is an AI-powered English learning app designed to help learners improve their spoken English. The 100-day program blends 100 self-learning lessons and 10 live online teacher classes. The program is currently being used by vocation trainees, college students, young job seekers, working professionals and others.
