Types of Bank Accounts | Terms for English Speaking
1. Savings Account (Bachat Khaata)
Savings accounts are used to save extra money.
This money is what is left after your day-to-day expenses.
The bank pays you interest (byaaj) on this account!
Bank Question #1:
A question you ask your bank is, “bachat khaata kholne ke liye kin kin kaagzaaton ki zaroorat hai?”
In English, you will ask, “What documents do I need to provide to open a savings account?”
2. Current Account (Chalu Khaata)
A current account can be opened by a person.
It can be opened by a company.
It can even be opened by a community.
People use a current account for daily use!
People put their salary in this account.
It is easy to pay your bills and expenses!
Bank Question #2:
A question you ask your bank manager is, “Chaaloo khaata ko kholne ke liye kitne paise ki zaroorat hoti hai?”
In English, you will ask, “How much money is required to open a current account?”
3. Fixed Deposit (Saavdi Jamma)
You can use a fixed deposit account to earn money!
Banks give the account holder a high interest on this account!
Use this deposit if you don’t need that money for some time.
After the agreed date, you get the money back and a big interest!
Bank Question #3:
If you want to open an account, ask your bank manager, “Is account me byaaj kitna milega?”
Ask this question in English by saying, “What is the interest rate on the fixed deposit account?”
4. Recurring Deposit (Aavarti Jamma)
Do you want to save and earn on your salary?
Then a recurring deposit account is for you!
You put a small part of your salary in this account each month!
The bank offers a large interest on this account, too!
Bank Question #4:
You can ask your bank manager, “Is khaate ke liye niyuntam jamma rashi kya rahegi?”
In English, you can ask, “What is the minimum deposit amount for this account?”
