One of the many challenges of providing quality customer experience is language. When it comes to industries like aviation, hospitality, or retail a common language between the company and its customer is crucial. Knowledge of a universal language is necessary to be better prepared for all customers.
John Keells Holdings and EnglishBolo™
John Keells Holdings recently partnered with EnglishBolo™ to offer the 100-day spoken English program to their employees across companies. This decision stems from a recognition of the value of English in improving customer experience. The program is also recognized as beneficial to the career aspirations of employees. Spoken English would qualify them for promotions and other opportunities within the company.
The EnglishBolo™ program was implemented in the fourth quarter of 2019. Employees from 16 different companies under John Keells Holdings signed up for the program.
How it Works
The EnglishBolo™ 100-day program provides a learning model that provides structured and consistent learning and practise with the convenience of flexibility for accessing lessons and teachers for each user.
The program structure:
1) An assessment test will place the user into a program most suited to their level.
2) 100 short ‘learn yourself’ lessons. One lesson every day is the intended way to use the program. Each lesson ends with a short quiz for some additional practice.
3 After 8 lessons, a user can sign up for an online teacher class. Teacher classes are an important supplement for learning English. These classes help users develop confidence.
4) Each user gets to choose the day and time of the class. A user needs a good internet connection and a pair of headphones to successfully take the class. Each user gets 10 online classes for the duration of the program.
5) At the end of the program, each user takes a test that then evaluates their results against their pre-program test.
Learners who complete the program achieve their targeted goals.
EnglishBolo™ has been used in several corporations for employee training. Other corporations that have partnered with us include Devyani International Limited, the largest franchisee for Pizza Hut and KFC.
