This means there are 30 students for every teacher.

India is a very big country. 

Students come from many backgrounds.

Many students’ parents have never been to school.

They want the teachers to teach their children well.

In India, teachers have a huge responsibility! 

The Role of a Teacher 

The role of a teacher is very important.

A student can learn from textbooks. 

A teacher can make learning easier for students.

These are some responsibilities of a teacher: 

1. Role Model – A teacher is a role model.

Each action of a teacher is watched by students.

Teachers must speak and act in the right way.

For students, teachers are an example of how to be as a person.

Students can learn many useful habits from their teachers.

2. Instructor – Teachers must know the subject very well. 

They are responsible for making a study plan.

They take the class through the syllabus using the study plan.

Teachers must ensure students learn important things.

They test students’ knowledge.

They also answer questions.

Teachers correct students’ mistakes. 

They even help when students find something difficult.

They are responsible for helping students learn! 

3. Guide – Teachers should be friendly.

They will encourage students to ask questions.

They must treat students with respect.

Students should trust their teachers.

Students should enjoy talking with teachers.

Teachers can Teach with Technology

Teaching many students is difficult. 

Each student can have many questions. 

A teacher may not know all the answers.

Each student has a different way of learning.  

Technology can help teachers solve these problems! 

The internet is a good source of information.

Some apps help with teaching mathematics.
